SAN GABRIEL & ROSEMEAD AYSO SOCCER - REGION 40

All- Stars


All-Stars is an invitation-only program offering an advanced skill level of soccer for players in the 10U, 12U and 14U divisions only, who participated in the previous Fall season and who have demonstrated excellence in skills, enthusiasm and commitment to AYSO's core values.

There are no tryouts.

This program includes Area 1C regions and games may be played in ANY of these locations: Arcadia (2), Pasadena (13), San Gabriel (40), Alhambra (60), Glendale (88), Temple City (98), South Pasadena and San Marino (214), South El Monte (908) and Boyle Heights (1304).

  • Teams play a compact schedule with games on Saturdays and possibly on Sundays starting in January through the first weekend in March.
  • Local travel in the San Gabriel Valley will be required.
  • The number of All-Star teams formed is often limited by the number of qualified parents who volunteer to referee and coach. Players whose parents volunteer to referee or coach will be given priority.
  • Those players that are selected to an All Star Team are expected to make all practices and games as there is an attendance requirement for all players in order to play in the All-Star playoffs.

All-Star Information

What Divisions participate in the All-Star program?
  • All-Star teams are formed from participants in the Fall 10U, 12U and 14U divisions. Players from the EXTRA program are not eligible to participate in the All-Star Program. 

Player Eligibility Requirements
Player must have been registered in the Fall season AND participated in at least 50% of the Fall season games. 
Player must not have had any disciplinary actions Each Fall team must have at least one player on an All-Star team.

When and where is the All-Star tournament played?
  • The All-Star tournament is typically played in mid/late January.
  • Matches will be held at various local Area 1-C fields depending on field permits and availability. (i.e. Alhambra, Arcadia, Glendale, Pasadena, La Crescenta, Temple City)
My child was selected to participate in All-Stars, how do I register him/her?
  • All participants in the All-Star Program (Players, Coaches, etc.) must register online for the FALL ALL-STAR PROGRAM.
  • Parents should log into their AYSO Region 40 account and select the "INVITE ONLY" ALL-STAR PROGRAM.
  • Failure to register online by December 31 could result in an invitation to participate, being withdrawn.
  • ONLY those individuals contacted by the Region 40 All-Star Coach or Region All-Star Committee should select and register for the All-Star Program.
  • Registering in the All-Star Program DOES NOT register a player for the Spring Cup Programs. Players and Volunteers MUST register for each of the respective programs individually.
  • Registration fees for the All-Star Program is $90.

Fall Core Season

2025 Fall Registration

  • Practices may begin on or after September 1 (6U-19U), games begin on September 6 (5U-16U) and runs approximately 10 weeks. Game schedules will be made available on or after September TBD. All 5U-14U games to be played on Saturdays. Dates are subject to change.

  • Each participant will receive a uniform (shirt, shorts and socks) a trophy/metal and a photos, Team and individual pictures are taken in mid season and may be purchased separately.

  • The number of players that can be placed on teams is based on the number of head coaches who volunteer. Parent/guardians who volunteer receive priority and payment does not guarantee placement on a team.

  • The region will consider requests to allow more skilled players the option to move up to an older division. However our current policy does not allow any player the option to "play down" in a younger division (no exceptions).

  • Teammate requests will be considered in the U4, 5U and 6U age divisions only and are not guaranteed.

  • At least one (1) parent/guardian must attend a Region-hosted kick-off meeting (most likely to be virtual). Date/time to be determined.

  • New players to AYSO and/or Region 88 Glendale must upload a copy of an age verification document (eg. birth certificate, passport, insurance card – if birth date is listed.) New and some returning players may need to attend a brief evaluation.
